About the business
We are a large medical practice across two sites in the semi-rural location of Waikanae in the Kapiti Coast, 60 km north of Wellington. We are open Mon-Fri 8am to 5.30pm with a late evening clinic on Tuesday. We provide a wide range of services for our enrolled patient population of 8840 with our vision being to provide high quality, accessible, affordable and sustainable patient-centred services to our patients and community.
Waikanae Health is a Healthcare Home practice (www.healthcarehome.org.nz). We recognise the valuable skills of all of our team and have a strong focus on growing our nursing team with a key focus on efficiency and sustainability of our work force.
About this role and you:
This exciting opportunity is for either a General Practitioner or a Nurse Practitioner to join our established team of seven GPs, two Nurse Practitioners, three nurse prescribers, one intern nurse prescriber, one prescribing clinical pharmacist, 2 Health Improvement Practitioner, 3 Clinical assistants, 12 registered nurses and 4 PCPA’s. In addition to our resident team we have visiting specialists and services that include access to specialist tests such as echocardiograms.
As a GP/ NP at Waikanae Health, you will provide a range of primary care services to our patients and have:
- Registration with the relevant professional body - Medical Council of New Zealand or Nursing Council of New Zealand
- Good Communication skills and be a team player
- Be legally eligible to work in New Zealand
- Full orientation, training and ongoing professional supervision and development will be provided
